Long story short...

Long story short....
This is a small family run business.  My father started it in 1969.  He was (is) a horse trader.  He realized that when he sold a horse the new owners needed the accessories to go along with it.   His first tack shop was in garage at his childhood home.  He then built a barn and transferred it to one of the stalls.  He quickly grew out of the barn and built a storefront.

As he was building this business up he started doing tack sells around the tri state area.  It was at one of these in Ripley, WV that he met his wife, Beverley.  She is a WV native and made the move to Ohio  and help with his growing business.
In 1980 they had a daughter, Beth.  She had a love for horses and ponies from day one.  As a youngster she would ride her pony in the store!  As she got older they introduced her to open 4-H shows.  This started a new love for horse showing.
Beth showed through 4-H and started showing in AQHA competitions.  Her mother took her to these shows and realized that  a show facility was needed in our area.  So in 1994 they built Henderson's Arena.   It is a show complex that hosts many kinds of events year round.
Fast-forward to now....Henderson's Arena is still hosting events with competitors hauling in from across the country.  They now have a large (12,000 sq ft) store front that is by the arena.  They specialize in tack, feed, boots and western apparel.   Don't worry, if you are not coming through Southern Ohio you can find us online at www.hendersonswesternstore.com
