A Look Back

Showing horses has always been a passion of mine.  I started locally on a little black pony in the walk trot class.  I placed third out of four and could not have been happier!

From that day forward I was dedicated to perfecting my skills showing horses.  As a youth I showed AQHA in Western Pleasure and All- Around events.  Some of my favorite horses were A Black Force, Borntobeabigleauger, Indelible Miss Ellie and Seeimadeyoulook.

Once out of the youth division I decided to try my mom's reining horse.   It looked like a fast overgrown horsemanship pattern to me.  Man was I wrong!  Twenty years later I'm still trying to get the hang of it.  It is a very challenging event and you are your largest competition.

Showing is also about looking great in the show pen.  I remember each outfit I wore for a big win!  Because of this is why I started creating show clothing.  I had a buckskin gelding and wanted to do up a vest for an event.  I could not find one that fit well and I would have been able to put crystals on.  So, I sat on my living room floor and drew out a vest pattern.  Then, I found a girl to sew for me.  We would tweak each one until we found the perfect fit.

From there we created half a dozen vest patterns, a jacket and shirt patterns.  All from trial and error.  We love pairing new fabrics and colors together.   However, the ultimate satisfaction is seeing them live in the show pen. Our outfits have been named Congress Champions, they have been on the covers of national magazines and have flooded local 4-H events.

We try to pair a great fit, great style and still stay on budget and true to our slogan "We firmly believe that only the horse should be broke."
